WHERE’D YOU GO? I MISS YOU SO..

“I spent my whole childhood wishing I were older and now I’m spending my adulthood wishing I were younger.” – Ricky Schroder

NOTE : This blog isn’t about Mike Shinoda’s “Where’d you go”. I love the song though. You must listen to it if you haven’t already. 😀

A day off from work.

“Why isn’t there any space?”

She talks out loud to herself as she makes room for her office files.

Another drawer. But instead of her old diaries and files, there’s drawing books, photo albums, cassettes, some CDs of her childhood memories and a kitchen set; with all those cute little kitchen items. Cups, a kettle, plates and everything with not even one scratch on them. There’s a smile on her face. She goes through them all like a kid in a candy store. And the tension? It’s gone.

As she picks up a CD to play, she sees a file named “Space Facts”. She puts the CD down and while going through the file recalls, how she wanted to become an astronaut and looked up to Kalpana Chawla since the fifth grade and laughs at what she has become. A fashion designer. She doesn’t regret her decision. She chose this profession. It’s the work load that keeps her busy and stresses her. She loves her job. She’s just amazed by the fact, how ambitious she was as a child.

“Love what you do and do what you love”. A quote by Ray Bradbury, is what she believes in.

She continues watching the CDs, playing cassettes of her favourite songs that she used to collect. People now, hardly listened to the cassettes. They’ve songs downloaded in the mobile phones these days.

After going through them all, she just sits still on the floor with her legs stretched and the drawer opened with everything lying outside on the floor. She holds the remote in her hand and as she stares into oblivion, she recalls some memories. Sometimes, she just wants to be the little child she was, again.

She misses the freedom. She was dependent on her parents, yet she was free. She could watch the television however, whenever she wanted. She remembers how she would fall asleep on the couch while watching television and end up on the bed the next morning. She remembers the story sessions with her mother, where after listening to a story, she would narrate the same story to her mother and change the character’s name. She remembers celebrating birthday in school; when she would distribute one candy each to the entire class and two candies to her best friend and the class teacher.

And now? She is independent. Great. But with the independence, comes responsibilities. She rents a house now. She has taxes to pay. She has bills to pay. Phone bill, electricity bill, internet bill, and what not. On top of it, she’s about to get married. She waits all week for friday, thinking she would get to relax a little. She gets herself an appointment for a spa. She has a few friends. She does not party much. So, what she does is, she gets herself some movies in a pendrive from her colleagues, to watch on friday nights. It’s fine. It’s fun. Still, she misses being at home. She lives by herself. Right? No matter how much she tries, she’s never off work. She has to cook even after work. She has laundary to do, that’s been piled up for the two days she has.

She’s lost in her thoughts. Suddenly, it strikes her why she decided to open the drawers.

Meanwhile, her phone rings.

“Office calling…”

Before she picks up the phone. With a poker face, she puts everything back in the drawer and gets back to work.

THE BLOGGER RECOGNITION AWARD.

Hey! bloggers and viewers. I hope you all are having a good day. 🙂

I feel so grateful to have nominated for “The Blogger Recognition Award”.

Again, no idea what it is. A little idea after reading other people’s posts.

Thank you Fernanda Guevara , Elevated Hope and Anjali Soni for nominating me and introducing me to such an award. 😀

I was nominated on three different days by three different and amazing bloggers a while ago. I had to delay this as I was a little (very little) busy.

How everything started.

It started with a thought out of nowhere. I surfed the internet on how to start a blog. I visited different sites where people could post what they wrote. Out of which, I chose WordPress. I made my profile. Chose a name. It took me a day to actually think about it. It had to be unique. I was like. Okay, people say I’m quiet, my sister believes I work for the ISIS, nobody knows what’s going on in my mind. A plan for a murder? A plan for where the next place for my long planned bomb blast would be? Nothing. Who knows. So, after much thinking, I somehow landed to the name “THE QUIET GIRL BLOGGER”.  I am so happy to have thought about starting a blog. People are so kind and supportive here. I’ve been appreciated (which I never thought I would be). It’s been a month and a few days now. The journey till now has been amazing. You people are awesome. I love you all. Thank you for unknowingly being so nice to me. Your words mean the world to me. Now I have to stop writing and go find some tissue. 😥

Advice to the new bloggers.

I myself am new to the blogging community. I would just want to say that keep writing. Do not think that you are any less. Believe in yourself. Appreciate and get appreciated. That’s what this is about. You are new? You are conscious? Don’t worry. This is a whole new world. People will always encourage you. Motivate you to do better. To look forward to another day. Believe me! You will feel good about yourself and write with more passion than before. Good luck. 🙂

ANOTHER LIEBSTER AWARD.

As I was busy scrolling down for no reason…

My inner voice : No reason?

Okay! I was actually reading some of you guys’ amazing blogs.

My inner voice : Better.

Ya. So, as I was busy doing that. An orange dot popped up above the bell on the top right corner of the site.

My inner voice : That’s what people call notifications.

Dude, come on! I’m trying something here.

…..

Nevermind. I was overwhelmed by another nomination for the “Liebster Award”. I thought, “Okay. Maybe sometime later I will start writing for it.”. Then came another. And another. One more. And that went on for the next three more nominations.

     2. If you were trapped on an island for 3 days, what would you take with you?

Addison Greene asks –

  1. Where do you find inspiration for your blog?

Answer : Inspiration could be found anywhere. From talking to someone about their experience in something to recalling some of your own experiences. Or sometimes, picking up a subject on which every reader can relate. For me, it’s both.

Answer : My favourite place is yet to be discovered.

Future Pixar asks –

EARTH – WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE

Earth

“And forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair”   ― Kahlil Gibran

I haven’t posted anything since more than a week now. I did not run out of inspiration. I was busy admiring Earth’s beauty. Same place. Same evening. Clicked at different time. I cannot put this into words. You must look at this, yourself.

Wondering where this is? It’s a beach in Udupi, in Karnataka. (Yes, India. Not everyone here is an Indian blogger. 🙂 )

Malpe Beach it is.

CONTINUED, RECONSIDERED.

Following is the same old story published on June 11, 2016 with some amendments. I thank Dermott Hayes for the suggestions. What do you guys think?

It’s been a while now. She still curses him for what happened. She loathes him. The chain of sleepless nights, continues. There’s love. But at the same time, a feeling of hatred and anger dwells.

The conversation ends. Their story doesn’t. How can it? She loves him. She can take him back in a minute. She wants to, but she can’t. And that’s what keeps her from moving on. She starts looking everywhere for distraction. And she turns to food. It can be anything. Cigarettes. Alcohol. A kiss or a one night stand with a former lover. A friend. A stranger, maybe. But eating becomes the one thing she can look forward to. And a pillow to cry on.

She feels used. She thinks about how she was an option for someone who means the world to her. She can’t stop picturing them both do the things he used to do to her. Make her laugh. Love her. Hold her. Say things he wants to do with/to/for her. Have long, late night conversations with her. Everything.

She misses him.

She deletes his number and blocks him from everywhere possible. There is no way he can reach her. And then one day, she unblocks him. No reason, she just does. She wants him to talk to her first. As she sees her inbox, there it is. His name. She opens his messages and reads it all. She then realises that there isn’t a day he doesn’t text her (apologise to her) since that day. With the tears rolling down her face, she just wants to hug him in that very moment. With every text, she says “I love you”(just not out loud).

She persists showing her anger through texts and phone calls. He persists explaining everything to her. As stubborn as they both are, none of them give up. Despite of what he has to listen, he does not let his pride come in the way. He knows what he did is wrong. He accepts every word she says and isn’t proud of it. He is sorry. He cries. They both do. And this is new to her. No one ever cried for her this much before. Not even a little. She can sense that everything he said in that one year might be a lie, but the tears aren’t fake. She fails to react to it.

One thing is clear now. He loves her. Just as much as she does. He just wants a chance to explain everything to her. She listens to him this time. He tells her how guilty he is to have things messed up with her. That he wanted to tell her everything sooner. That he was afraid to lose her. That he had to choose between the other girl and her and that he chose her.

He messes up relations just to be with her. He chooses his one year old love over the seven years old friendship.

He tells her that he only loves her and no one else. He wants to end up with her. Be there for her. He wants to do anything and everything he can to make things right again. He wants to prove it to her that she was never an option and that he never used her. If he had to, he wouldn’t want her back so bad when he has a choice to go back to his friend. He tells her everything that seems hard to believe after what he has done. She is hurt and obviously, is dealing with some trust issues. She wants to believe him but she can’t. After much crying and talking and arguing and fighting for a month;

“Take as much time as you want. Just come back.”

“Okay.”

“What?”

“I took my time. I think I can give this a chance.”

“Sure?”

“Yes.”

“I love you.”

” 🙂 ”

He can’t argue with that.

THINGS ARE GOOD AGAIN.

It’s two months since the make up. Things seem to be just as before. Good. Beautiful. She forgives him. He keeps his promise. He proves what he said he would. They consider whatever that happened, a bad phase of their lives and forget about it. Although, some things about the past still bothers her. To which he promises to work on and make her forget about it.

This is just the way she wanted it to be since the beginning. Now, soulmates aren’t a myth anymore.

THREE DAYS QUOTE CHALLENGE: DAY 3

Third and the last day of this challenge. I really enjoyed doing this. I thank  Simply.Fernanda again. 😀

Following, is the quote from the movie: UP

1143444_1353034908931_full

“True love is hard to find. When you found it, take good care of it while you still have time.”

This is the third, among my favourite quotes. I believe “UP”is the best love story. I was so moved by their story. The development from a young couple to an established couple, with the ultimate heartbreaking separation that is inevitable but wished and prayed by everyone to never occur (I mean death).

Also, by what has happened in Orlando, this quote is a reminder for every person on planet Earth, that life is unpredictable. It’s time when you appreciate every second with the ones you love and not worry about trivial things, while you can still breathe.

The Rules :

1: Thank the person that nominated you.
2: Post 1-3 quotes each day for 3 consecutive days.
3: Nominate 3 bloggers each day to participate in the 3-day Quote Challenge.

People I Nominate :

1. Parrhesiastic

2. Extemporized Blog

3. Chioma

THREE DAYS QUOTE CHALLENGE: DAY 2

It’s day two and here comes my next favourite quote. It’s really difficult to choose from a bunch of quotes that I like. But, anyway. 🙂

Following, is the quote from the movie- KUNG FU PANDA

MrPingPoSecretfa8520538223abdece6e37517119247f

“To make something special, you just have to believe it’s special. There is no secret ingredient.” – Mr. Ping

This is when Po asks Mr. Ping (his father) about the secret ingredient that makes his noodles special and unique from others.

I love this quote. It’s so meaningful and motivating.

The Rules :

1: Thank the person that nominated you.
2: Post 1-3 quotes each day for 3 consecutive days.
3: Nominate 3 bloggers each day to participate in the 3-day Quote Challenge.

I Further Nominate :

1. Kariazam

2. Rashad

3. Little Miss Mishap

THREE DAYS QUOTE CHALLENGE: DAY 1

Hey! Bloggers and Viewers. 🙂

I’ve been nominated for the “3 Days Quote Challenge”. The rules say that, “Thank the person who nominated you”. I would’ve thanked Simply.Fernanda anyway. 😉

Thank you Fernanda. 🙂

I saw people quote authors for this challenge. I’ve been an animated movie fanatic since….. Finding Nemo. So I thought why not quote something from the movies?

Following, is the quote from the movie- RATATOUILLE.

ratatouille-movie-review-remy-chef-gusteau-ghost-cage-pixar

“You must try things that may not work, and you must not let anyone define your limits because of where you come from. Your only limit is your soul.” – Chef Gusteau

These words inspire Remy (who’s just a rat) to do what he loves (i.e. cooking) inspite of where he comes from.

The Rules :

1: Thank the person that nominated you.
2: Post 1-3 quotes each day for 3 consecutive days.
3: Nominate 3 bloggers each day to participate in the 3-day Quote Challenge.

People I Nominate :

1. Be Nuts Its Better
