After five days of complete no productivity, here I am. AGAIN. Not doing anything great. I mean I went for a walk. Which is not only great, it’s huge. But if asked otherwise…

It’s been a usual morning.

I got up. Went for a walk. Took shower. Had breakfast. Plugged in the earphones. Opened my laptop to look for the list of work I had in mind to do. Ended up writing this post.

You must think, why I am making this post all about myself. (Woah! Great timing Charlie Puth. *you just want attention is playing*)

I will tell you why. As I opened my blog to check my followers and blog hits first and then read some of you guys’ posts to get inspired from, I saw the orange dot on the top right corner. And guys, I had to check what it was because it’s orange often. So, I did. And it said,

“ACHIEVEMENT. 1 Year Anniversary Achievement Happy Anniversary with! You registered on one year ago. Thanks for flying with us. Keep up the good blogging.”

My day just got better. Did you read it? An achievement. I never looked at it this way. But it feels good to see that I survived a year here. Survived because, I started a blog in 2015 as well. That was when I posted something, gave up on it the first day when the views were zero. I didn’t know how this worked and was impatient and lacked self confidence. I read and edited it like six times? I also remember checking that post again and again to see if anyone had read it. NO. Still zero. I thought who would read anything like what I wrote and just deleted it. I guess most of you must feel this relatable. And those who cannot relate. JUDGE ME. xD No, don’t.

Then I learnt that views don’t matter that much. You don’t have to necessarily promote it either. That’s what I did. I told people when I got a positive response here by you guys. Okay, views and followers still mattered to me. And while I’m on it, let me brag. It’s been a year and I now have 5,511 views and 404 followers. Not bad ya. Who doesn’t like to be accepted? But I tried and learnt how it works and I’m still learning. It feels great to write all this down.

Anyways. Thank you all. 🙂

Hey! bloggers and viewers. I hope you all are having a good day. 🙂

I feel so grateful to have nominated for “The Blogger Recognition Award”.

Again, no idea what it is. A little idea after reading other people’s posts.

Thank you Fernanda Guevara , Elevated Hope and Anjali Soni for nominating me and introducing me to such an award. 😀

I was nominated on three different days by three different and amazing bloggers a while ago. I had to delay this as I was a little (very little) busy.

How everything started.

It started with a thought out of nowhere. I surfed the internet on how to start a blog. I visited different sites where people could post what they wrote. Out of which, I chose WordPress. I made my profile. Chose a name. It took me a day to actually think about it. It had to be unique. I was like. Okay, people say I’m quiet, my sister believes I work for the ISIS, nobody knows what’s going on in my mind. A plan for a murder? A plan for where the next place for my long planned bomb blast would be? Nothing. Who knows. So, after much thinking, I somehow landed to the name “THE QUIET GIRL BLOGGER”.  I am so happy to have thought about starting a blog. People are so kind and supportive here. I’ve been appreciated (which I never thought I would be). It’s been a month and a few days now. The journey till now has been amazing. You people are awesome. I love you all. Thank you for unknowingly being so nice to me. Your words mean the world to me. Now I have to stop writing and go find some tissue. 😥

Advice to the new bloggers.

I myself am new to the blogging community. I would just want to say that keep writing. Do not think that you are any less. Believe in yourself. Appreciate and get appreciated. That’s what this is about. You are new? You are conscious? Don’t worry. This is a whole new world. People will always encourage you. Motivate you to do better. To look forward to another day. Believe me! You will feel good about yourself and write with more passion than before. Good luck. 🙂

Happy Blogging, everyone. 😀

As I was busy scrolling down for no reason…

My inner voice : No reason?

Okay! I was actually reading some of you guys’ amazing blogs.

My inner voice : Better.

Ya. So, as I was busy doing that. An orange dot popped up above the bell on the top right corner of the site.

My inner voice : That’s what people call notifications.

Dude, come on! I’m trying something here.

Nevermind. I was overwhelmed by another nomination for the “Liebster Award”. I thought, “Okay. Maybe sometime later I will start writing for it.”. Then came another. And another. One more. And that went on for the next three more nominations.

Basically, this is my seventh nomination for the award in a week and eighth in total. I thank Future Pixar Blog , Mum Of One , Radiant Thoughts , The Learnify , Rural Voices Blog , Through My Eyes and Addison Greene for nominating me. Thank you. 🙂

You know the rules already, I guess. But anyway, here are the rules for the nomination.

  1. Blogging is my new favourite hobby. I play keyboard and paint sometimes too.

2. I am ambidextrous.

3. I’m a taurian.

4. Badminton is my favourite sport. I’ve always wanted to play badminton like Saina Nehwal. I am intrigued by the guys playing cricket too. Intrigued as in, not by the guys playing it, but by cricket. Haha! I always want to play when I watch them play.

5. I love AB De Villiers. Have you heard him sing and play guitar?

6. When it comes to keeping my room clean, I’m a mess. But when I do clean it, I don’t let anyone touch anything.

7. If you go on a date with me, I’ll eat and not talk at all. You’ll probably get bored. On top of that, I eat very slow. Haha! 😀

8. I love and try to keep people happy. (I always fail to. :p )

9. I love dogs. I don’t want babies. I can live with puppies for the rest of my life.

10. My maa is my best friend who has always been there. I share things with her that I don’t share with my sisters.

I couldn’t answer all the questions. So I decided to select two questions each from the seven bloggers mentioned above. Pardon me guys.

The Learnify asks

  1. How many best friends have you had during your lifetime?

Answer : I don’t remember exactly how many, but I do remember that all of them left. They’re not even a friend to me. Strangers, to be precise. I’m hoping the current ONE to be the one, you know.

     2. If you were trapped on an island for 3 days, what would you take with you?

Answer : Water, mobile phone (with internet of course!), a box of pizza, garlic bread. I don’t care how I look, I just want food.

Mehar Malhotra asks

  1. What kind of music connects to your soul?

Answer : I was into rap, very much. But since last year, I love Ed Sheeran. So it has to be soft, romantic music.

     2. Name a thing that makes you smile every time you see it.

Answer : A golden retriever. Or any breed. It just has to be a dog.

Mum Of One asks –

  1. Do you believe in soul mates?

Answer : Yes, I do believe in soulmates. Without a doubt. That belief is the inspiration for my love related blogs. 🙂

      2. If you could be anywhere right now,  where would it be?

Answer : I would choose to be on a beach, with some food, a camera and a book. And nothing/no one else.

Hindu Reddy asks –

  1. What helps you come out of anger or grief?

Answer : Crying out loud in an empty room always helps.

2. What is the one thing in your life that you never want to lose?

Answer : My family and hope.

Addison Greene asks –

  1. Where do you find inspiration for your blog?

Answer : Inspiration could be found anywhere. From talking to someone about their experience in something to recalling some of your own experiences. Or sometimes, picking up a subject on which every reader can relate. For me, it’s both.

      2. What is your favorite place in the world?

Answer : My favourite place is yet to be discovered.

Future Pixar asks –

  1. What’s your favorite part about blogging?

Answer : My favourite part about blogging has to be the fact that we as bloggers, be it a amateur or a professional, good or bad are always appreciated and motivated to do better by anonymous people.

      2. Where is your safe haven?

Answer : In my mother’s arms.

Vibash asks –

  1. Do you celebrate festival? Which is your favorite?

Answer : As an Indian, the answer to, “Do you celebrate festival?” will always be yes. Diwali is my favourite festival.

  8. Are you a gym freak? How do you feel about being one?
  9. Wedding near a beach or at a plaza?
  10. Cats or dogs?
  11. You are/aim to be a/an……?

Third and the last day of this challenge. I really enjoyed doing this. I thank  Simply.Fernanda again. 😀

Following, is the quote from the movie: UP

“True love is hard to find. When you found it, take good care of it while you still have time.”

This is the third, among my favourite quotes. I believe “UP”is the best love story. I was so moved by their story. The development from a young couple to an established couple, with the ultimate heartbreaking separation that is inevitable but wished and prayed by everyone to never occur (I mean death).

Also, by what has happened in Orlando, this quote is a reminder for every person on planet Earth, that life is unpredictable. It’s time when you appreciate every second with the ones you love and not worry about trivial things, while you can still breathe.

The Rules :

1: Thank the person that nominated you.
2: Post 1-3 quotes each day for 3 consecutive days.
3: Nominate 3 bloggers each day to participate in the 3-day Quote Challenge.

People I Nominate :

1. Parrhesiastic

2. Extemporized Blog

3. Chioma

It’s day two and here comes my next favourite quote. It’s really difficult to choose from a bunch of quotes that I like. But, anyway. 🙂

Following, is the quote from the movie- KUNG FU PANDA

“To make something special, you just have to believe it’s special. There is no secret ingredient.” – Mr. Ping

This is when Po asks Mr. Ping (his father) about the secret ingredient that makes his noodles special and unique from others.

I love this quote. It’s so meaningful and motivating.

The Rules :

1: Thank the person that nominated you.
2: Post 1-3 quotes each day for 3 consecutive days.
3: Nominate 3 bloggers each day to participate in the 3-day Quote Challenge.

I Further Nominate :

1. Kariazam

2. Rashad

3. Little Miss Mishap

Hey! Bloggers and Viewers. 🙂

I’ve been nominated for the “3 Days Quote Challenge”. The rules say that, “Thank the person who nominated you”. I would’ve thanked Simply.Fernanda anyway. 😉

Thank you Fernanda. 🙂

I saw people quote authors for this challenge. I’ve been an animated movie fanatic since….. Finding Nemo. So I thought why not quote something from the movies?

Following, is the quote from the movie- RATATOUILLE.

“You must try things that may not work, and you must not let anyone define your limits because of where you come from. Your only limit is your soul.” – Chef Gusteau

These words inspire Remy (who’s just a rat) to do what he loves (i.e. cooking) inspite of where he comes from.

The Rules :

1: Thank the person that nominated you.
2: Post 1-3 quotes each day for 3 consecutive days.
3: Nominate 3 bloggers each day to participate in the 3-day Quote Challenge.

People I Nominate :

1. Be Nuts Its Better

2. Mahak Saluja

3. Audrey Yuuta

Oh My God!! This is huge.

Today, a notification popped up that said, Fernanda Guevara commented on a post, “Hello 😄  I’ve nominated you for the Liebster Award!”. I didn’t know what that meant. I clicked on the link she mentioned and read through her post and found that it was an award (on the internet) for promoting fellow bloggers and giving their work, exposure. I thank her for nominating me. 🙂

Fernanda Guevara btw, is a sweet and supportive blogger who goes by the name @Simply.Fernanda on wordpress . Go check out her blogs if you haven’t yet.

When I started blogging, I thought I was doing it because I like writing occasionally and basically because I have nothing much to do to keep myself busy these days. I was anxious at first, but then I plucked up courage anyhow and published my first blog ever. Then second. Then third. It’s been half a month since my first blog and now I’m here, nominated for “The Liebster Award”. A voice in my head says, “It’s just a nomination, silly.”. To which I say, TRUE. I know that. Right? It’s kind of a big deal for me. And I’m just excited.

So, basically:

  1. I’m nineteen years old.
  2. My birthday falls on 21st April.
  3. Youngest in the family.
  4. I love music. I would choose singing as a career if I were really good at it.(sigh!)
  5. I learnt kathak for more than a year and have performed at Kamani auditorium too. I appear shy but believe me, I have. My best friend says that puberty hit me like 0.1% (To which, I agree and it certainly isn’t a compliment.) I still look the same (Why??? 😥 ). The following picture is of me, six years back. God! I look so dramatic.

6. Favourite food- Pizza and Garlic Bread.

7. Former Eminem fan. Currently in love with Ed Sheeran.

8. My favourite T.V. shows- Prison Break and F.R.I.E.N.D.S.  Wentworth Miller has been my favourite actor ever since I’ve watched Prison Break. He’s nailing it on screen.

9. I have some ironic interests in my “To Do List”. Like, Scuba diving (but I’m aquaphobic) and Skydiving (but I’m acrophobic). :p

10. I like writing but I don’t read a lot.

11. I still watch cartoons. Spongebob Squarepants is my favourite. 😀

1: What is your favourite childhood memory?

Answer:   As a kid, while playing in the evening, when my sister (who is a year younger than me) used to come outside to play with me, and some friends. I would send her back in and tell her to come out to play only after she drank a glass of milk. I was evil and unreasonable. And she was so adorable to even do that. Karma always pays you back, you know. Now she reminds me of those times and teases me for how doing that to her is one of the reasons why she is taller than I am. :p

I can never relive doing that to her again. We’re both teens now. 😀

2: What inspires you to write?

Answer:   What’s been happening around, some really good writings that make me wonder, “Why can’t I write like them?”, the number of views on my blog and people showing interest to read more of my writing (Yes, seriously.) inspires me to write.

3: (From other bloggers) what has been your favorite or most memorable piece of writing?

Answer:   Out of the blogs I’ve read from other bloggers, Former fat kid was my favourite by Simply.Fernanda 😉

4: What is your favourite quote and why?

Answer:   My favourite quote would be from the movie; The Pursuit Of Happiness.

“Don’t ever let somebody tell you, you can’t do something. Not even me. All right? You got a dream. You gotta protect it. People can’t do something themselves, they want to tell you, you can’t do it. If you want something, go get it. Period.”

The reason would be because it’s really powerful and meaningful. It motivates me to do what I feel.

5: What movie/cartoon/show character do you identify the most with?

Answer:   This one’s interesting. 😀

The character that I identify the most with, has to be Joey from the show F.R.I.E.N.D.S.  Mainly because he’s a foodie and doesn’t share food. Haha! I think we all can relate to him.

6: If you had only 12 hours to do anything that you please and have always wanted, after those 12 hrs you will never be able to do that/those things ever again, what would it/they be?

Answer:   If I have only 12 hours to do anything that I’ve always wanted to, that would be to be able to sing and be known for my singing (Even if it is for 12 hours). I hate it when I listen to people, especially my age and otherwise, sing so well and actually take it somewhere. I’ve always wanted a career in music.

7: Do you believe in supernatural things? Why or why not?

Answer:   No, I don’t believe in supernatural things. Maybe because I’ve never experienced them. :p But I do enjoy listening to spooky stories and visiting places where people believe it exists. You know, haunted  places.

8: What motivates/inspires you to do what you do in life?

Answer:   I always want to improve myself in whatever I’m good at (No, I do not mean studies.). Priyanka Chopra and Selena Gomez have always been the one I’ve looked up to. I’m not into acting or singing. Just their hard work and dedication towards what they do, inspires me.

9: What is one superpower you would like to have and how would you use this power?

Answer:   I don’t leave a good impression on the first meet. I’m socially awkward. So, I would want to have a superpower that allows me to erase the memory of the awkward first meets with a person. :p

10: What is a bizarre talent of yours?

Answer:   I can’t remember what I studied last night, but I can totally recall the lyrics of a song I’ve just heard . LOL. No, seriously, I play keyboard and paint sometimes too. I might be good at it. 😀

11: Which song do you feel the most connected to or feel that it describes you?

Answer:   Currently it would be, Fight Song by Rachel Platten.

  1. Which book or movie title describes your life currently?
  2. What is it that scares the bejesus out of you (in one sentence)?
  3. Do you read a lot? What is your favourite novel or a piece of writing?
  4. Do you miss school? What is your favourite school memory?
  5. Are you satisfied with what you do and have in life or do you want something more? What is it that is still missing in your life?
  6. Who is your role model? Why?
  7. Are you an insomniac? When was the last time you slept before 10 p.m.?
  8. Which is your favourite genre in music?
  9. Would you go to a club with your friends or sit back home and enjoy a whole pizza while watching a movie or a T.V. series alone?
  10. Your biggest pet peeve is?
  11. “The world is about to end. You have 24 hours.” What do you do?
